Financial Crisis. Watch or listen to @ Brookings podcast: Financial regulation in Congress. The interview with Douglas Elliot describes the major policy debates within government over the appropriate public policy to regulate Wall Street and prevent another financial crisis such as the one that occurred in 2008 and 2009. During the interview, Elliot identifies several key issues of debate which are driving policy discussion.
Identify a research hypothesis from Elliot’s discussion that explains how financial regulation might be completed and how it might affect the banking industry. Then, identify two variables you might create to examine the validity of the hypothesis you have identified.
