Abstract
This research looks at the role of Erik Erikson, a psychologist who developed 8 stages of development, and the path an adolescent male who identifies as gay took to establish their own identity. The research within this paper is drawn from peer reviewed journal articles which focus on providing information regarding adolescent growth and the connection to Erik Erikson. The focus is pushed to show how an individual learns to establish themselves while dealing with external factor such as peer relationship and parental authority.
